why yoga?

Yoga is GOOD for you. It’s been proven. The same way that eating your vegetables, brushing your teeth and getting a good nights sleep are good for you. And the best part about it is that anyone can do it anywhere. You don’t have to be flexible or strong—eventually you’ll get there.

The benefits of yoga go further than just flexibility and strength. Research has shown that the stress relieving effects of just a few minutes of yoga per week can produce positive physical and mental results that last a lifetime. Let’s face it, practicing yoga will make you a better you (even if you're pretty good already).

testimonials

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and had a lot of years where I couldn't climb stairs or get up or down off the floor without help. I didn't go to YMCA-type yoga classes because I thought it would be embarrassing when there was so much I physically couldn't do. With Chara, I never felt ridiculous. She came up with variations of poses for me and we gradually worked up from there as I got stronger and more flexible. You can tell she really loves what she does and wants to share it with everyone.

We felt it was important to offer a yoga class since yoga is not a part of our schools' physical education program. The kids had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Parents had only positive things to say about the instructor, her teaching methods, they way she interacted with the children, and the value of the class. No one left the class feeling frustrated or disappointed if they couldn't do a particular pose (or do it well). Everyone left with a smile on their face. My daughter was very disappointed when the session came to an end.
